Question about Methylene blue and Safe

Hi,
I've started treating in hospital 15gal tank a 7" Frontosa. Because the size of the fish/tank I'm expecting possible ammonia raise and I would like to know if I can use Seachem Safe to detoxify ammonia & nitrites while the treatment? Is the reducing agent compatible with Methylene blue? Thanks.

We would not recommend the use of a reducing agent such as Safe or Prime in the presence of Methylene Blue. It can reduce it to a more toxic form, unfortunately. However, you can add a beneficial bacterial supplement such as aquavitro seed or Seachem Stability, which will help to boost your biological filter during the treatment period and hopefully, prevent any ammonia and nitrite spikes.
